Men’s Gymnastics: Philippines’ Carlos Yulo bags gold, Vietnam gets silver, bronze

MANILA, Philippines – Carlos Yulo was nothing but spectacular in front of the home crowd after delivering a gold-medal finish in the Individual All-Around edition of the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics in the 30th Southeast Asian Games at Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, December 1.

The Filipino standout entered the tournament as a formidable favorite. It was during the Floor exercises of the games wherein Yulo lived up to the expectations garnering a score of 14.650 from the judges together with a showing that left the hometown faithful in awe.

Vietnam’s Dinh Phuong Thanh finished with a silver medal tallying a total of 82.360, while his compatriot Le Thanh Tung had 81.700 for the bronze. Both Vietnam athletes were part of the team that bagged the Gold for the all-around event for their country last 2017.

Yulo’s debut on the SEA games platform this year proved why he is a marvelous athlete looked upon on the World Stage after his successful strides.

Yulo returns to action on Tuesday for the apparatus finals with a chance to boost his Gold Medal run.
