LOS ANGELES — Duke forward Cooper Flagg, the projected No,1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft, has inked an endorsement deal with shoe giant New Balance.

He joins a slew of NBA players who are in the New Balance crew, including Tyrese Maxey of the Sixers, Jamal Murray of the Nuggets and Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Born in Newport Maine, Flagg told ESPN how unique it was to sign with a product that has a manufacturing factory in his home state.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The connection withNew Balance as a family company and a company with Maine roots is special to me. My mom used to go to the tent sale for back-to-school shopping there when we were kids. That really aligns the brand with my roots. It’s a perfect fit,” Flagg told ESPN.

Only 17 years old, the 6-foot-9, 205-pound Flagg is expected to star at Duke in the upcoming season before turning pro as a one-and-done athlete.

Flagg starred at Montverde Academy in Florida where he ended his senior season averaging 16.5 points, 7. rebounds and 3.8 assists per in 33 games.
