INDIANA — Despite having an imposing five-inch height and 3.5-inch reach advantage over his upcoming opponent — the great Canelo Alvarez — Caleb Plant remains as a steep underdog against the Mexican superstar when they square off this November 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

According to the latest odds at multiple sportsbooks, Plant, an American originally from Tennessee, is a plus 600 dog, which means a $100 wager on him yields a $600 profit.

Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs), the reigning pound-for-pound king from Guadalajara, Jalisco, is on the other hand a minus 1000 favortie, which means a bettor would have plunk down $1100 on the murderous punching redhead in order to net $100.

After a tense fight press conference last September where some shoving and pushing led to a cut in Caleb’s eye, Canelo vowed to score an early knocout against the 6-foot-1 Plant who has a long 70.5-inch reach.

The Canel-Plant collision will unify the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF super middleweight titles.

The bout will be aired worldwide via Showtime pay-per-view. (RC)
