Women’s Arnis: Vietnam, Philippines take early golds.

December 1, 2019 – Vietnam and the Philippines share four gold medals during the first day of the women’s arnis tournament inside Angeles University Foundation Gym in Pampanga.

Jezebel Morcillo reigned supreme in the women’s bantamweight division for the Philippines, beating Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Huong.

Vietnam claimed gold in the women’s featherweight class as Vu Thi Thanh Binh defeated Jude Oliver Marie Rodriguez from the Philippines.

Dao Thi Hong Nhung added another gold in Vietnam’s bag as she beaten Cambodia’s Si Veannsonita in the female lighweight category.

Myanmar’s Oo Thet Wai cannot hold on its ground as she was defeated by Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Cam Nhi in the light welterweight full contact live stick category.

Four more gold medals will be at stake in the women’s division on December 2 in the padded stick event.
